How to Whitelist Our Emails in Gmail [If you're using a different system, skim to the bottom!] Follow these simple steps to whitelist our email address in Gmail: 1. Add Our Email Address to Your Contacts The simplest way to ensure our emails don’t end up in the spam folder is by adding our email address to your Gmail contacts. Open a recent email from us. If you haven’t received one yet, you might want to check your promotions or spam folder. Hover over our sender name or email address. A contact card should pop up. Click on “Add to contacts”. This automatically adds our email to your contacts, signaling Gmail that our emails are safe and should go directly to your inbox. 2. Mark Our Emails as “Not Spam” If you find one of our emails in your spam folder, you can easily mark it as not spam: Open your Gmail account and go to the Spam folder on the left sidebar. Search for any emails from us. Select the email and click “Not spam” at the top of the page. This action will move the email to your inbox and help prevent future emails from being sent to spam. 3. Create a Filter to Always Send Our Emails to Your Inbox Creating a filter is a more advanced way to ensure all our emails go directly to your primary inbox, bypassing the promotions or updates tabs: Open Gmail and click the gear icon in the top right corner, then select “See all settings”. Go to the “Filters and Blocked Addresses” tab and click “Create a new filter”. In the “From” field, enter our email address (e.g. support@folk.com). Click on “Create filter”. Check the box that says “Never send it to Spam” and “Categorize as: Primary”. Finally, click “Create filter” to save your settings. This ensures that every email from us will land in your primary inbox, marked as important. 4. Move Emails from Promotions to Primary Gmail sometimes categorizes emails from businesses under the Promotions tab. You can manually move our emails to your Primary tab to teach Gmail where these emails belong: Go to the Promotions tab and find an email from us. Drag the email from Promotions to the Primary tab. A message will appear asking if you want to do this for all future messages from this sender. Click “Yes”. This will ensure that all our future emails go directly to your Primary inbox. Ensuring Deliverability Across Other Email Providers If you use other email services besides Gmail, here are some quick tips to ensure our emails reach you: Outlook: Add us to your Safe Senders list under the “Junk Email” settings. Yahoo Mail: Mark our emails as “Not Spam” and add us to your contacts. Apple Mail: Create a rule that moves emails from our address to your inbox.
