Pakistan’s women’s cricket team lost the third T20 in South Africa’s tour of the country by eight wickets with nine balls remaining on Friday afternoon.

Pakistan were up to bat first after South Africa won the toss, with openers Muneeba Ali and Gull Feroza getting the team to just under 50 runs by the end of the sixth over. The two hit a combined seven fours, with Feroza scoring 18 in 18 balls before being caught out. Two overs later Ali was run out, scoring 33 in 26 deliveries.

Nidu Dar tried to bring some life back into the team after smashing a six off the first ball she faced, but was bowled out only a few overs later, ending with 12 off seven deliveries. However, Sidra Amin was putting together some desperately needed offense, scoring 37 off 40 deliveries, supported by Fatima Sana, who scored 27 from 17. The two put together a partnership of 46 runs before Sana fell in the 18^th over. Amin was bowled out in the very next.

Pakistan ended their innings at 153, losing only five wickets. That total would prove to be insufficient despite a spark of hope early with Tazmin Brits being stumped out on the very first ball she faced. In came Anneke Bosch who quickly began to dominate, hitting a plethora of fours in the fourth over. Bosch would score 46 off 37 deliveries before being retired hurt, ending her 81-run partnership with Wolvaardt, the largest of the game.

Laura Wolvaardt would be bowled out in the 14^th over, but not before scoring 45 off 37 deliveries. Annerie Dercksen scored a blistering 47 off 23, hitting her own barrage of fours in the 17^th over.

South Africa would win the game and close out the series with 8 wickets in hand and 9 balls remaining.
