The International Monetary Fund (IMF) has shared its meeting schedule up until September 18, 2024, and Pakistan, which desperately needs money to support its economy, is not on the list.

According to the IMF’s website, meetings will be held on September 9, 13, and 18, but Pakistan’s $7 billion loan request, which is part of a 37-month programme, will not be discussed during these meetings.

In July, Pakistan and the IMF agreed on this 37-month loan programme. The goal of the programme is to help Pakistan make its economy stronger and create better conditions for growth, according to the IMF.

According to ARY News, a statement from the IMF explained that the programme will help Pakistan keep the economic stability it worked hard to achieve, reduce inflation, save more money, and fix problems to encourage private businesses to grow.

Meanwhile, Pakistan’s government is also trying to secure $12 billion in loans from countries like China, Saudi Arabia, and the UAE.
