Let us tell you that a mega auction has been planned for the upcoming 18th season, in view of which the BCCI had called a meeting at its headquarters. After the meeting, BCCI Secretary Jay Shah confirmed this.

IPL Owners- BCCI Meet

After this special meeting, BCCI Secretary Jay Shah said in a release that the franchise owners submitted feedback on player rules and other business aspects including central merchandising, licensing and gaming. The BCCI will now place these recommendations before the IPL Governing Council and evaluate them.

No More Than 5 Players Will Be Allowed To Be Retained

Jay Shah further said that teams will not be allowed to retain more than five players and a Right to Match (RTM) card can be used. The RTM card gives a franchise the opportunity to match the last bid of a player from the previous season. The BCCI secretary later confirmed to the media that the board will soon take a decision on all the points discussed.
