How 8-Minute Rule Works

The 8 Minute rule works by taking the treatment time and turning it into billing units. Therapists bill one time if the service takes 8 to 22 minutes. Additional units are billed for longer treatments.

This is a rule that helps therapists, with fairness, keep costs down, and a rule also has a clear billing in patients. Simple, effective, to be sure, in order to make sure that billing is done properly in physical therapy.
