Aluva

Aluva is an important municipality in Kerala, India. It is located on the banks of the Periyar River. Strategically positioned, it is an important commercial center and a passage point for travelers going to Kochi, which is within a short distance. The town is well connected by road and rail, thereby making it accessible and significant in the region.

History, traditions and culture have melted into it from time to time that Aluva is indeed an epitome of celebrating gaiety with its several vibrant festivals and local customary ways. Aluva Manappuram itself comes alive during Shivaratri. Thousands throng in thousands to visit the fabulous Shiva temple. View the river strewn and glittering lights and crowds – a captivating sight in all senses.

It also coincidentally houses a number of education institutions; hence, Aluva has become a study hub for the region. Apart from these schools and colleges, Aluva also comprises some vocational training centers that contribute to the educational sector in Kerala.

Besides its cultural and educational relevance, Aluva has an array of local markets quite active in the region reflecting much of Kerala’s exquisite handicrafts, spices, and traditional textiles. Another notable aspect is a range of eateries serving proper Kerala cuisine, including really great dishes like appam and stew.

Aluva is surrounded by all natural beauty with lush green and serene river views. As a whole, Aluva is a perfect amalgamation of tradition and modernity, making it an interesting destination for residents as well as visitors, replete with history, culture, and prospects.
