Boosting Video Encoding Efficiency with Intel’s Hyper Encode
When handling high-resolution or multi-stream video, bottlenecks may arise due to traditional video encoding's heavy reliance on a single CPU or GPU. By allowing parallel processing across many Intel chips—either CPUs or GPUs—Intel Hyper Encode overcomes these limitations. By using Intel's Deep Link technology, this method creates a direct line of communication between the CPU and GPU, enabling smooth operation together.
The task is split up and distributed among all available encoding units when Hyper Encode is turned on. Due to Intel Hyper Encode's clever job allocation based on the distinct capabilities of each processor and GPU, this distribution is incredibly efficient and allows for faster encoding without compromising video quality. In optimal configurations, Intel Hyper Encode can increase encoding speed by up to two times by combining the processing capacity of the discrete ARC GPU and the integrated GPU of the Intel CPU.
- Significantly Reduced Encoding Times: High-resolution video rendering and encoding times can be halved with Hyper Encode. This speeds up content delivery timelines, which is particularly helpful for content producers that work with 4K or 8K footage.
- Improved Multi-Stream Processing: Video producers frequently deal with several streams at once, such overlayed effects or several camera viewpoints. By sharing the encoding load, Hyper Encode streamlines these multi-stream workflows and improves the presentation of effects and real-time editing.
- Smooth Integration with Intel Deep Link: Deep Link technology enables ARC GPUs and Intel CPUs to function in unison, effectively allocating resources, managing workloads, and controlling power. Hyper Encode improves users' performance per watt by utilizing Deep Link to distribute workload and save power.
- Future-Proofing for High-Resolution Content: With an increasing demand for 8K content and multi-stream video, Hyper Encode helps users future-proof their workflow capabilities, ensuring that even resource-intensive projects are manageable.
