As a film-maker, it sure is great when you screen your newly produced film on the big screen. A train pulls into the station and stops; anonymous passengers disembark with the help of people standing on the platform, a few of whom filmmaking then climb aboard. It really does not have much to do with film direction — it is a profession onto itself. This makes the sequence look inconsistent and sloppy, and believe me when I tell you that the audience notices this, even if they are not consciously aware of the technical reasons behind it. Your teachers will demystify the craft of film production and challenge you to master the art of visual storytelling. Some restrictions apply. The better you get at making everyone in your film crew feel valued, right down to the rookie trainee grip, the more you will find that they will be willing to go to the ends of the Earth for you.
