The super stripy shows the potential of the famous River Lea which is fast becoming the No.1 specimen perch water in the country. Local Cheshunt, Hertfordshire-based Joe explained: Im truly elated and feel ecstatic to have been fortunate enough to smash my PB for the species three times in as many weeks its almost unheard of. Returning to a part of the Lea, that produced a number of three-pounders and my previous PB of 4 lb 9 oz a couple of weeks ago, I arrived in the dark so I was set up and fishing just before first light. Within moments of casting out I had a take on my left hand rod but stuck into thin air, I reset the rod and a few minutes later it went off again, this time resulting in a nice perch that I estimated to be around the 2 lb 8 oz mark.
