Superintendent Bill Gathers said the school does not have any lead pipes, but lead solder may have been used. Gather said water used for drinking and cooking was fine. There were some old office water cooler maintenance sinks and the physics labs that are not used as much that were above the threshold, and we shut those areas off, he said. Gathers said the school has contacted a consultant who is coming Monday to assess the district and see what steps it should take next. He said all of the areas that tested high for lead or copper were turned off and the district plans to address any repairs over the summer months. Gathers said the school could put filters on each faucet to reduce lead and copper levels, but they want to fix the problem. We dont want to have any positive areas, and we plan to retest every single thing this summer to make sure our water everywhere is fine. West Middlesex Superintendent David Foley said they tested 10 samples at water fountains and in the kitchens at ea
