The couple had difficulty having a child of their own, so they adopted Zachary John and Anna Kate, with the former being the oldest. Denver, however, remarried Australian actress Casandra Delaney six years after his divorce from Annie in 1993, and their union produced a beautiful daughter, Jesse Belle. Denver died tragically in 1997 when his small home-built aircraft crashed into Monterey Bay.
